Deacon has officially played his first season of soccer!
The season started out great. Deacon was having fun and was happy to finally be able to play after asking me all summer. But he didn't quite get the concept that you aren't suppose to tackle in soccer. So most of those first games Josh and I were constantly saying "Deacon stop tackling," "Deacon, no tackling," "Deacon, you're going to sit out if you tackle again!" LOL Eventually he got it and we ended up with a pre game pep talk that consisted of Deacon repeating back to us "No tackling in soccer, no playing in the net, and kick the ball."
By the end of the season he really wasn't wanting to play anymore and eventually told us it was because the bigger kids were always taking the ball from him. It's hard to explain to 3-5 year olds not to take the ball from their own teammates, but it was all a lesson for him. He did finish the season and get his trophy although he didn't play the last few games.
It was still fun though!
