Our area is known for it's peanuts and it's that time of year...peanut harvesting! So naturally there is a National Peanut Festival that occurs this time of year to celebrate. It's basically a big fair but we were really surprised by some of the things we saw. We enjoyed the normal festival (or fair) favorites...all the rides, the cheesy games, the carnies who are super creepy, the overpriced tickets, the farm animals, tractors...but what we didn't expect to see were all the zoo animals. They had monkeys, a lion, baby tigers (which we got to feed and pet), a camel (which you could ride), a giraffe (which you could feed), zebras, and sea lions (which you could pose for pictures with). It was an odd mix for sure.
We chose not to indulge in fair food. I know, I know. You can't go to the fair and not eat fair food. We decided our money would be better spent on food that wasn't going to clog our arteries as bad. So, we indulged in Panera instead.

A wonderful, family fun evening!
