Josh and I enjoyed our weekend in London. It was such a wonderful trip, full of history, gorgeous weather, yummy food, and precious time spent together. With the move we've been so busy that it was nice to do a little traveling and spend some quality time together.
Day 1:
We took the tour bus to London, checked into our hotel and set out for some sightseeing. We grabbed lunch at Whole Foods (YUM!) and ate in Kensington Park outside of Kensington Palace (where Princess Diana lived). Next we took the tube to St. Paul's Cathedral (where Princess Diana and Prince Charles were married), saw Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, ate some delicious sushi, walked around Parliament and Big ben, and saw the broadway show Wicked. The show was fantastic!

Day 2:
We set out for another fun filled day, starting with breakfast at The Muffin Man. Delicious! We spent most of the morning touring the Tower of London, soaking in all the history we could. That place is awesome. We were able to see the crown jewels (a bit ostentatious for me, but it's part of royalty) and learn about all of those that were held prisoner and executed here.
After visiting the Tower of London, we grabbed some lunch and headed to the British Museum. Also a very cool place...and FREE. Can't beat that! We saw a lot of really cool items, including the Rosetta Stone.

Day 3:
We started our final day in London with a visit to Westminster Abbey. This is probably one of the coolest cathedrals I've seen in Europe. Unfortunately we weren't able to take pictures inside, but it was really cool to see where Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth, Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, and many others are buried. All in all, there are 3,000 tombs in that church. The area where the Queen and Knights worship and meet was the coolest place for me. Also being where all the coronations take place and where Prince William and Catherine were married was pretty cool. We were walking on history!
After visiting Westminster, we took a walk down to Downing Street, where the Prime Minister and other officials live. We then strolled through St. James's Park outside of Buckingham Palace, made it to the Palace only to be shuffled through quickly (there were so many people), and then headed to the British Library (also FREE). What an awesome library! For one, it's huge. Second, it's full of old writings, including part of the book of John written 200 years after Christ, Beatle's memorabilia, and literary works like The Canterbury Tales.

All in all, a terrific trip to London! If you ever get the chance to go, London is such a cool place to visit!
