This is a few weeks late, but better late than never.
I had a wonderful birthday this year! Josh and I decided to go to Paris for an overnight trip and it was awesome! Our good friend, Amie, watched Deacon for us and we were able to spend the night in Paris just the two of us. This was our first time leaving Deacon overnight and he did well...and surprisingly, so did we!
We drove down to Paris and spent the afternoon walking around the Notre Dame area. Our evening was spent at a French cooking class (an awesome surprise from the hubby) and it was amazing. So much fun and a unique, one-of-a-kind experience in Paris. After our cooking class we spent the night walking around Paris while it snowed. It was a different side of Paris than we've seen. Dark, quiet, and peaceful. It was the perfect night.
The next day was spent walking around some antique markets and visiting a really cool, old kitchen store we were told about at our cooking class. We loved that store! We grabbed some sushi for lunch and decided to call it a day when we couldn't feel our bodies anymore (it was extremely cold!).
Plating my delicious food during our cooking class. This was such a wonderful experience. Thank you honey for my awesome surprise!
Yummy food! I'm still thinking about that meal!
Waiting for the metro and trying to warm up
Outside the Louvre. Very pretty at night...and peaceful. There was hardly anyone out there.

Outside the Basilica. This is on a hill and offers a wonderful view of Paris.
View from the Basilica. Unfortunately, you cannot see the Eiffel Tower because it's covered by buildings, but still a beautiful sight.
