Luxembourg City

We spent this past Saturday seeing the sights in Luxembourg City. It's a really neat city. Lots of history with it's fortified wall surrounding the city, old churches, etc. Although it was freezing we enjoyed getting out and seeing a new place.

Our day started at the American Military Cemetery just outside of Luxembourg City. It's a beautiful cemetery which contains 5,076 of our military dead, many of whom lost their lives in the "Battle of the Bulge." General Patton, who was in charge of the Third Army and who helped put an end to the "Battle of the Bulge" in Bastogne, Belgium is also buried here.

After visiting the cemetery we headed into Luxembourg City to enjoy some sights.

Deacon and his ax. Although it was freezing he insisted on holding this ax all day. His hand was so cold!
