Dover and Canterbury

Josh and I made our first trip of the year! We took a day trip to Dover and Canterbury, England and definitely enjoyed getting out of the house. The weather is finally starting to improve so we thought it was time to get out and travel while we can!

The weather did hold up, which was wonderful since most of our day was spent outside. We explored the Dover Castle and then spent the afternoon in Canterbury visiting the Canterbury Cathedral and enjoying the sites. Dover Castle is HUGE and has an expansive system of war tunnels underneath the castle. These tunnels were carved through the soft cliffs, which many know as the "white cliffs of Dover." We went on a guided tour and learned about the tunnels and their use during WWII. We enjoyed walking around the castle grounds and seeing all the towers, the church, etc.

In Canterbury we explored the Canterbury Cathedral, which is gorgeous, and walked around the city. It's a cute town with a lot of shopping.
