Baby Update

Good news! Both mom and baby are doing great! We had our second doctors appointment on Tuesday and were happy to find out that the baby looks and sounds wonderful. Our second ultrasound was much more revealing than the first and we were able to see everything, with the exception of the gender. We were amazed at how much our little one has grown in 1 month! Last month we were only able to make out where the legs and arms were starting to grow, the body, and the heart. This time we were able to see the heart, stomach, lungs, brain, spine, ears, hands, arms, legs, feet, etc. It was awesome! According to the doctor our baby weighs about 100 gr or 0.22 lbs, and from ear to ear the baby measures 3 cm. SO TINY! The heartbeat sounded good and the baby was moving! I haven't felt any movement yet and most likely won't for another 3 weeks, but it was so neat to see it moving on the screen. Unfortuantely the baby would not move in a position where we could tell the gender. We thought for sure we'd be able to find out since we were able to make out everything else. So we'll just have to wait until next month.

I'm doing wonderful and feeling great. The doctor said all my bloodwork looked great and I'm not anemic. I've been feeling pretty energetic lately and often forget that I'm pregnant because I feel so good. Although that's not happening so much anymore due to the ever expanding belly!

Here are a few pictures from the ultrasound. The placenta was smooshing the baby's face so it looks a little funny. The third picture is of the brain.
